Do you love yourself? My wake up call.

As a healer I am continuously working on myself, improving my thoughts and actions, and healing my traumas. This is one of the main reasons I can relate so much to my clients because I am experiencing the same process of healing as those who come to me for help.

Recently, I went deep into my thoughts of insecurities and victimhood from situations occurring at the time. After an entire night working with my spirit guides and angels, and allowing myself to feel every one of the powerful, downhearted and melancholy feelings arising within me, I realized what this experience and pain were teaching me. The main lesson was that everything I was experiencing reflected my lack of love for myself.

This was a huge wake up call. I quickly dried my tears and began working on it. 💪

My feeling of betrayal had emerged to reflect how I betrayed myself all the time; the sense of not feeling loved was because I thought I didn't deserve love and I was putting all my insecurities created from the lack of self-love onto my relationships.

My first step in my healing journey that night was being aware of the lack of love for myself, but my second question was, “okay, how can/do I love myself more?”

I found out that I wasn't alone in this journey; many people like me were asking this same question repeatedly. It sounds silly, but do you know how to love yourself?

Self-love is not about fancy baths, treating yourself on shopping days, or getting a mani-pedi; it goes deeper than that. Self-love is about recognizing your power and worth and understanding that you are unique, and that is your power.

Self-love is feeling so much love for yourself, accepting the lows and highs, and understanding that the lows are also part of the whole, not something you need to feel bad about.

Taking care of your own needs and not sacrificing your well-being to please others is self-love. It's about trusting yourself and prioritizing your own needs and desires.

When you start consciously loving yourself you can touch your own light, you experience your light; and when you can do this, nothing can trigger you to make you feel insecure or “less than”, because you know that you are whole just as you are, just being you.
